Thea's Meditation Writing

Man made walls, shoes, thoughts, protection, warnings, gone.

Roaring drowns my constant thoughts.

"Your cup overfloweth ,your cup overfloweth, your cup overfloweth." sings the spring.

Mother gives, and Mother takes away, but Mother always embraces.

My cup overfloweth.

Judy's Reflection

Live simply so that others may simply live ...
Food, water and companionship is all we really need.
When sleeping under the stars give thanks for the fresh breath you take and the beautiful smells, sights, and sounds you take. Give thanks.
When you eat a piece of fruit stop and give thanks. Thank the soil, thank the seed. Thank the water, the lover who nurtured that plant and the worker who harvested that fruit to bring you nourishment and joy.
Live simply ... thank the Universe for the beautiful people who have entered your life and whose love and presence have made it impossible to remain the same.
Give thanks.
When you're looking up at the stars, give thanks to the Earth, Universe, the Spirit who has given you everything this day. Give thanks and Live Simply so that others can Simply Live.

Katharine's Sarcastic Poem

This is a strange place.
Here I am reminded of the Earth
Here I am reminded of life
Here I am reminded of water,
of caverns, of sunlight, of
past UU experiences.
Here I am amused
Here is the source water of the Sacramento River
Here is beauty.
And yet ...
Here are people
Here are benches
Here are cars, trains, highways,
houses, trashcans, basketball.
But you can forget about that
for a little while and experience the
rays of sun glinting off the
falls
You can forget about that
and feel the coolness of the
fresh source water gliding
down your throat.
It is the meeting of two worlds,
but for the time being
I would rather only be in one.
The world of nature, of the
beautiful, flowing, ever
changing source water.
The world of the trees, of
the birds, of the butterflies
I want to be there right now,
but here is good, too.

away we go!

away we go!

About Me

My photo
Rev. Tera Little
I'm a minister serving Throop Unitarian Universalist Church in Pasadena and Starr King School for the Ministry as adjunct faculty. Ministry, Spirit, sustainability, motherhood, and justice have porous borders in my life and impact each other. Motherhood led me into the church; justice work (among other things) led me into ministry; sustainability forms a core of my theology. God - the sacred energy that connects all human and non-human beings - makes itself manifest in my life when I am loving the world in one form or another.
